Traditional Creamy Coleslaw

This has got to be one of the very best coleslaw recipes I have ever found.  It was originally posted here:

Traditional Creamy Coleslaw

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbs rice vinegar
  • 1-1/2 Tbs lemon juice
  • 1 Tbs prepared horseradish
  • 1/2 Tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 Tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 Tsp celery salt (I use celery powder personally)
  • 1/2 Tsp salt
  • 1/2 Tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 (28 oz) package of coleslaw mix - or, you know, you can shred a head of cabbage and grate some carrots.

Whisk up all of the non-vegetable ingredients in a large bowl until the sugar is dissolved.  Fold in the coleslaw mix.  Cover bowl and refrigerate 1 hour before serving.
